“Me ver pobre, preso ou morto já é cultural”: uma análise dos critérios de notícia do caso Rafael Braga

Abstract

A presente pesquisa busca gerar reflexões sobre como a comunicação se reporta a noticiar corpos negros. Com isso, questiono quais foram os critérios de noticiabilidade adotados pelo Portal de Notícias G1 na cobertura do caso Rafael Braga, único condenado no contexto das manifestações de 2013. Assim, o objetivo geral do trabalho é estudar a percepção, se positiva ou negativa, de como Rafael Braga é abordado pelo G1. Os objetivos específicos são identificar a dinâmica das notícias, principalmente quando a pauta é racial, e refletir sobre como a manipulação da informação age para a manutenção da branquitude na comunicação. Como método, adotou-se a análise de conteúdo proposta por Bardin (2011), pela qual busco identificar de que forma é construída a imagem de pessoas negras a partir das notícias do G1. As bases bibliográficas conceituam critérios de noticiabilidade, a função do jornalismo e a manipulação da informação.

The present research seeks to generate reflections on how communication reports on the news of black bodies. With this, I question what were the criteria of noticiability adopted by the G1 News Portal in the coverage of the case Rafael Braga, the only convicted person in the context of the 2013 demonstrations. Thus, the general objective of the work is to study the perception, whether positive or negative, of how Rafael Braga is covered by G1. The specific objectives are to identify the dynamics of the news, especially when the agenda is racial, and reflect on how the manipulation of information acts to maintain whiteness in communication. As a method, we adopted the content analysis proposed by Bardin (1977), through which I seek to identify how the image of black people is constructed from the news of G1. The bibliographical bases conceptualize criteria of noticiability, the function of journalism and the manipulation of information.
