Uma teoria queer entre Butler e Deleuze: uma trajetória entre conceitos, existências e a performance drag

Abstract

Inspirada pela perspectiva decolonial e pela filosofia da diferença, esta tese opera na intersecção entre teoria social e estudos de gênero e sexualidade, na medida em que procura romper com o automatismo observado neste último, com o propósito de introduzir novas conexões possíveis para avançar e atualizar o estado da arte da teoria nesse campo. Para tanto, procurou-se investigar as condições de possibilidade e os efeitos de um agenciamento entre as teorias de Judith Butler e Gilles Deleuze, em sua produção individual e em seu encontro com Félix Guattari. Em termos mais específicos, o trabalho consistiu em uma reconstrução dos principais conceitos, argumentos e premissas desses autores, seguido de uma busca de aproximações e afastamentos no campo teórico. Esse agenciamento, com a intenção de ocupar um espaço entre os autores, tomou como fio condutor uma incursão pelo universo da performance drag, como um elemento que aparece nos trabalhos de Butler com grande importância, e emerge como um ponto de vista privilegiado para a produção desse encontro a partir da noção deleuziana de simulacros e da proposta de inversão platônica. O trabalho parte da hipótese de que a conexão entre Butler e Deleuze não apenas é possível, mas pode criar possibilidades importantes de acessar a potência da diferença, com a intenção de superar as interpretações binárias e rígidas sobre gênero, sexualidade, identidade, performatividade e resistência como ato político em oposição à heteronormatividade.

Inspired by decolonial theory and the philosophy of difference, this thesis operates in the intersection of social theory and gender and sexuality studies, as far as it intends to break away from the automatism in those studies, with the intention to introduce new possible connections to advance and update the state of the art of theory in the field. With this intention, an investigation was made on the conditions of possibility and the effects of an agencement between the theories of Judith Butler and Gilles Deleuze, on his own work and his encounters with Félix Guattari. In more specific terms, the work consisted of a reconstruction of the main concepts, arguments and premises of both authors, followed by the possible points of convergence and divergence in the theoretical field. This agencement, made with the intention to occupy a space in-between both authors, has taken as a guideline an incursion through the universe of drag performance, as an element that appears on Butler’s work with great importance, and emerges as a privileged point of view for the production of this encounter through the deleuzian notion of simulacra and the platonic reversal he proposes. This thesis works with the hypothesis that the connection between Butler and Deleuze is not only possible, but can create important possibilities to access the potency of difference, with the intention to surpass binary, rigid interpretations about gender, sexuality, identity, performativity and resistance as a political act against heteronormativity.
