A atuação das mulheres no Movimento de Libertação Nacional Palestino : um estudo de caso sobre as organizações islâmicas e seculares

Abstract

Esse trabalho apresenta, analisa e discute, a partir de lentes feministas pós-coloniais, a atuação das mulheres palestinas no movimento de libertação nacional, em diferentes organizações islâmicas e seculares. O foco desse estudo recai sobre as sete principais organizações, a saber: Organização pela Libertação da Palestina (OLP), Movimento de Libertação Nacional da Palestina (Fatah), Frente Palestina de Libertação Nacional (FPLP) e Frente Democrática de Libertação Nacional (FDLP), de inclinação secular, e o Movimento de Resistência Islâmica (Hamas), o Jihad Islâmica Palestina (JIP) e o Movimento Islâmico de Israel (MII), de caráter islâmico. Embora todas elas tenham possuam a sua importância, o foco do estudo recai sobre OLP, Fatah, Hamas, JIP e MII, uma vez que são as mais referenciadas na bibliografia consultada. Este é um estudo de caso da atuação das mulheres no âmbito de movimentos de resistência e de libertação nacional no Terceiro Mundo. Sua relevância se encontra na falta de estudos a respeito deste tema na área de Relações Internacionais e Estudos Estratégicos no Brasil. A pergunta a ser respondida é: como as mulheres palestinas atuam no âmbito das principais organizações que compõem o movimento de libertação nacional (Fatah, Hamas, JIP e MII)? A hipótese levantada é de que, embora o movimento de libertação nacional palestino seja único, há diferentes interpretações de como a questão poderia ser resolvida. Logo, as mulheres que se filiam a grupos refletem essas diferenças, influenciando a forma como atuam para chegar ao objetivo final. O objetivo geral deste trabalho é analisar como agem as mulheres no âmbito das quatro principais organizações atuantes no movimento de libertação nacional da Palestina, o Fatah, o Hamas, a JIP e o MII. O objetivo específico é situar a atuação das mulheres palestinas na questão da atuação feminina nos países periféricos. O método utilizado será um estudo de caso sobre o movimento de libertação nacional palestino, enfatizando a atuação feminina em quatro das principais organizações atuantes em território palestino, que são o Fatah, o Hamas, a JIP e o MII. Conclui-se este estudo em que a hipótese inicial levantada se transforma em argumento final, segundo a qual, embora o movimento de libertação nacional palestino seja único, existem diferentes interpretações de como a questão nacional palestina poderia ser resolvida. Logo, as mulheres que se filiam a diferentes organizações refletem essas diferenças, influenciando a – e sendo influenciadas pela – forma como Fatah, Hamas, JIP e MII atuam para alcançar seus objetivos. Além disso, também se encerra essa dissertação reafirmando-se a necessidade de questionar as categorias pré-concebidas e as imagens construídas a respeito das mulheres do Terceiro Mundo – em particular, as mulheres palestinas – apresentando as especificidades de sua atuação dentro de algumas das principais organizações que compõem o movimento de libertação nacional palestino e das contribuições para a ausência para a disciplina de RI e Estudos Estratégicos como um todo.

This paper presents, analyzes, and discusses, from a post-colonial feminist lens, the role of Palestinian women in the national liberation movement, in different Islamic and secular organizations. The focus of this study falls on the seven main organizations, namely: Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Palestine National Liberation Movement (Fatah), Palestinian National Liberation Front (PNLF) and National Democratic Liberation Front (NDLF), of secular leanings, and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and the Islamic Movement of Israel (IMI), of Islamic character. Although all of them have their importance, the focus of the study is on PLO, Fatah, Hamas, PIJ and IMI, since they are the most referenced in the consulted bibliography. This is a case study of the role of women in the context of resistance and national liberation movements in the Third World. Its relevance lies in the lack of studies on this topic in International Relations and Strategic Studies in Brazil. The question to be answered is: how do Palestinian women act within the scope of the main organizations that make up the national liberation movement (Fatah, Hamas, PIJ and IMI)? The hypothesis raised is that, although the Palestinian national liberation movement is unique, there are different interpretations of how the issue could be resolved. Therefore, women who join groups reflect these differences, influencing the way they act to reach the final goal. The general objective of this work is to analyze how women act within the four main organizations active in the Palestinian national liberation movement, Fatah, Hamas, PIJ and IMI. The specific objective is to situate the role of Palestinian women in the issue of female role in peripheral countries. The method used will be a case study on the Palestinian national liberation movement, emphasizing the female role in four of the main organizations operating in Palestinian territory, which are Fatah, Hamas, PIJ and IMI. This study concludes in which the initial hypothesis raised becomes a final argument, according to which, although the Palestinian national liberation movement is unique, there are different interpretations of how the Palestinian national question could be resolved. Therefore, women who join different organizations reflect these differences, influencing – and being influenced by – the way in which Fatah, Hamas, PIJ and IMI act to achieve their goals. In addition, this dissertation also ends by reaffirming the need to question the preconceived categories and the images constructed about Third World women - in particular, Palestinian women - presenting the specifics of their performance within some of the main organizations that make up the Palestinian national liberation movement and contributions to Absence to the discipline of IR and Strategic Studies as a whole.
