Abordagens interceptativas avançadas : um relato de caso

Abstract

A intervenção na dentição decídua e/ou mista em Ortodontia é uma possibilidade defendida por muitos autores na literatura, caracterizando a Ortodontia Preventiva e Interceptativa. As atitudes clínicas interceptativas englobam a disjunção maxilar, a recuperação ou fechamento de espaços, tracionamento de dentes, correção de mordida cruzada e mordida aberta, entre outros procedimentos. O presente trabalho tem por objetivo relatar o caso de uma paciente de 9 anos e 7 meses, que se apresenta para o tratamento na Clínica de Ortodontia e Ortopedia Facial da FO UFRGS, com problemas localizados, para os quais foram indicados tratamentos interceptativos. Dentre as disfunções da paciente, destacam-se: atresia de maxila, mordida cruzada anterior, apinhamento dentário, impactação de canino inferior, agenesias de segundos molares inferiores e anomalia de forma dos segundos pré-molares mandibulares.

The intervention on the deciduous and/or mixed dentition in Orthodontics is a possibility defended by many authors in the literature, characterizing Preventive and Interceptive Orthodontics. As clinical interceptive attitudes there are maxillary disjunction, the recovery or closure of spaces, tooth traction, correction of crossbite and open bite, in addition to others procedures. Among interceptive clinical attitudes there are maxillary disjunction, the recovery of space or closure of spaces, traction of teeth, correction of crossbite and open bite, in addition to others procedures. The present study aims to report the case of a 9 year and 7 months old pacient, who attend to treatment at the Orthodontics and Facial Orthopedics Clinic of FO UFRGS, with localized problems for which interceptive treatments were indicated. Among patient’s dysfunctions, the following can be highlighted: maxillary atresia, anterior crossbite, dental crowding, mandibular canine impaction, lower second molar agenesis and anomaly in mandibular second premolars’ form.
