Abstract in Portuguese (Brasil)

This study has as priority to show, to identify and to make comparisons among the methodologies for emergency exits between buildings such as nightclubs and restaurants, using CBMRS Technical Resolution nº 11 - Part 01/2016, normative valid for the State of Rio Grande do Sul, and the National Code Construction (NCC), legislation that contains the necessary requirements for buildings in Australia, including emergency exits. Analyzes for fire exits were carried out on the following items: maximum population of the building, width and amount of emergency exits, travel distance and types of stairs for the respective divisions and classes studied in this paper. After the comparisons were made, a critical analysis of the standards was carried out, in order to verify which ones present more consolidated requirements with regard to fire safety. Thus, from the emergency exit items studied, it was possible to notice that both laws have several items in common and have similar safety items. The main difference found is the travel distance, which the Australian legislation presents more conservative values in terms of safety. Regarding other items, such as width, distance and population, the reference measures are very similar. ...
