The computer-aided project has allowed the development of unconventional approaches in recent decades, an area that has benefited widely from these new tools, is the aeronautical industry. The present work aims to develop a compliant mechanism capable of optimizing the efficiency of a wing, considering different angles of attack. Making use of a genetic optimization algorithm, simulating the mechanism via finite element method and evaluating the aerodynamic characteristics of the airfoil by the potential flow approach, it was possible to obtain a mechanism capable of increasing the maximum aerodynamic efficiency of the NACA 23012 profile by 15%. Additionally, the mechanism proposed reaches an average efficiency 25% higher than that of the original wing in the interval between 0 and 20º of angle of attack. ...
