Abstract in Portuguese (Brasil)
Abstract
The Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations (ERER) in science teaching enables approaches about the human body that escape from a purely biological perspective, regards the body as an abundant element of meanings, belonging to socio-cultural groups, with origin and history. Despite the great potential to discuss the body in this perspective in science education and the laws 10.639/2003 and 11.645/2008 require the inclusion of black and indigenous histories and cultures in school curricula, science ...
The Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations (ERER) in science teaching enables approaches about the human body that escape from a purely biological perspective, regards the body as an abundant element of meanings, belonging to socio-cultural groups, with origin and history. Despite the great potential to discuss the body in this perspective in science education and the laws 10.639/2003 and 11.645/2008 require the inclusion of black and indigenous histories and cultures in school curricula, science teachers do not normally do so. Mainly due to the lack of training in the subject, the fear of addressing issues related to cultural values and the fragmentation of areas of knowledge in disciplines (VERRANGIA; SILVA, 2010). Based on this problem, this qualitative research, of a documental character, started with the analysis of texts, images, videos and other documents and didactic materials from the collection of the Brazilian Association of Black Researchers (ABPN) and the Portal do Professor do Ministry of Education, in addition to studies published in the annals of the National Research Meeting in Science Education (ENPEC).Based on these documents and redeeming Afro-Brazilian Civilizing Values, new themes and activities for the study of the human body were proposed. The proposals were made based on the skills analysis of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) aimed at the Teaching of Natural Sciences in the final years of Elementary School, focusing on teaching about the body, that, even though does not make ERER explicit, has the potential for approaches aimed at rescuing values, black histories and cultures, praising and valuing differences, in the search for an education to combat racism. ...
