A constituição do sujeito no/do campo na sua relação com a agri cvltvra do período arcaico (Séc. I e II a.c.)

Abstract

O presente trabalho tem como tema a constituição do sujeito no/do campo na sua relação com a agricultura do período arcaico (séc. I e II a.C). Buscou-se analisar como se constituem as Tecnologias do Eu, mediante a relação dos sujeitos com a AGRI CVLTVRA do período arcaico (séc. I e II a.C.), de modo a elucidar os discursos e mecanismos operantes nesse processo. A pesquisa que tem como lente teórica a perspectiva pós-estruturalista, inspira-se nas teorizações foucaultianas para realizar a análise discursiva do material empírico, composto pelas obras “A Hermenêutica do Sujeito” de Michel Foucault e o “Da Agricultura” de Marco Pórcio Catão, a partir dos conceitos de Arquivo, Discurso, Sujeito e Tecnologias do Eu. Como suporte teórico, a pesquisa embasou-se em autores e autoras que abordam sobre a constituição do sujeito e sobre o conceito de Tecnologias do Eu. A partir de um olhar reflexivo, discorreram-se as análises dos arquivos que compuseram o material empírico dessa pesquisa, despertando, assim, alguns ecos acerca das Tecnologias do Eu que atravessam a constituição do sujeito no/do campo que se relaciona com a AGRI CVLTVRA do período arcaico (séc. I e II a.C.). O primeiro é acerca das práticas de si que se realizam especificamente no contato direto com o campo. O segundo eco que marca a análise da pesquisa se dá a partir da carta de Marco Aurélio à Frontão, que nos remete à prática de si que busca na vida agrícola uma referência ético-político, tendo como modelo os arquivos de Catão. Compreende-se, mediante as discussões, que o sujeito que se relaciona com a AGRI CVLTVRA arcaica (séc. I e II a.C.) é constituído no interior do discurso na medida em que sua subjetividade é atravessada pelas Tecnologias do Eu que visam o cuidado de si, a partir das práticas (àskesís) que se exercem no campo. Tais práticas têm Catão como modelo de agricultor, este que defende os valores morais e éticos da cultura mos maiorum, correspondente à sociedade de Roma antiga, em seus escritos e prescrições.

The theme of this work is the constitution of the subject in/from the countryside and their relationship with the agriculture of the archaic period (Centuries I and II b.C.). We aimed to analyze how the Technologies of the Self are constituted, considering the relationship of the subjects with the AGRI CVLTVRA of the archaic period (Centuries I and II b.C.), in order to elucidate the operating discourses and mechanisms in this process. The theoretical scope of this research is the post-structuralist perspective, inspired by Foulcauldian theorizations, aiming to carry out a discursive analysis of the empirical material composed by the works “The Hermeneutics of the Subject” by Michel Foucault and “On Agriculture” by Marcus Porcius Cato. Our analysis will be based on the concepts of Archive, Discourse, Subject e Technologies of the Self. The theoretical support of our research is based on authors that discuss the constitution of the subject and the concept of Technologies of the Self. From a reflective outlook, archives that composed the empirical material of this research were analyzed, awakening, therefore, some echoes concerning Technologies of the Self that transverse the constitution of the subject in/from the countryside who is related to the archaic period of AGRI CVLTVRA (Centuries I and II b.C.). The first echo concerns practices of self that are carried out specifically in direct contact with the land. The second echo to be highlighted in the research analysis comes from the letter from Marcus Aurelius to Fronto, which discusses the practice of self that searches for an ethical-political reference in agricultural life, modelled on the archives of Cato. It is understandable, through the aforementioned discussions, that the subject related to the archaic AGRI CVLTVRA (Centuries I and II b.C.) is constituted within the discourse insofar as their subjectivity is transversed by Technologies of Self that aim for the self-care, stemming from practices (àskesís) that are carried out in the countryside. Such practices take Cato as a model agriculturist, who defends the moral and ethical values of the mos maiorum culture, corresponding to ancient Roman society, in their writings and prescriptions.
