Travessias da paternidade : um estudo sobre o pai e sua função na clínica e na cultura

Abstract

Esta pesquisa aborda o modo como a produção sobre a função paterna no campo da psicanálise vem se relacionando com as modificações que a configuração das famílias tem experimentado nas últimas décadas. A partir disso, propõe pensar como as elaborações teóricas e o próprio discurso psicanalítico se articulam ao tensionamento, manifesto na cultura atualmente, entre a criação de novos modos de existir em família e a perpetuação de um modelo único de estrutura familiar – a família nuclear moderna. O material que fundamenta esta pesquisa é o relato de cenas que concernem ao tema da paternidade, tanto no trabalho clínico em psicanálise quanto através de conteúdos veiculados pela mídia, em jornais, revistas, televisão e internet. Inicialmente, é abordada a história da instituição familiar, assim como da posição e do reconhecimento do pai no interior da mesma. A seguir, são examinados os discursos que teorizam sobre o pai e sua função, buscando compreender como o pai chega a se constituir historicamente como figura problemática, considerada determinante na constituição tanto do sujeito individual quanto do funcionamento da vida em sociedade. Finalmente, este estudo examina como a figura do pai emerge como uma questão no campo psicanalítico, tanto na obra de Freud quanto de Lacan, com especial atenção à teoria dos quatro discursos deste último autor. Isto porque com esta formulação, ao final de sua obra, Lacan reposiciona o lugar do pai e do complexo de Édipo na teoria e na prática da psicanálise, bem como delimita as especificidades do discurso psicanalítico em relação a outras modalidades discursivas. Desse modo, a abordagem sobre a função paterna ganha novo contorno, abrindo espaço para pensar uma pluralidade de vias possíveis para a sustentação de um sujeito, para além da norma edípica. Ao longo de todo este estudo, é proposto o diálogo da psicanálise com autores do campo da psicologia social como Michel Foucault, Judith Butler, Gilles Deleuze e Félix Guattari.

This research addresses the way in which the production on the paternal function in the field of psychoanalysis has been related to the changes that the configuration of families has undergone in recent decades. Based on this, it proposes to think about how theoretical elaborations and psychoanalytic discourse are linked to tension, manifest in the culture today, between the creation of new ways of existing in the family and the perpetuation of a unique model of family structure - the nuclear modern family. The material on which this research is based is the report of scenes that concern the theme of fatherhood, both in clinical work in psychoanalysis and through content conveyed by the media, newspapers, magazines, television and the internet. Initially, the history of the family institution is discussed, as well as the father's position and recognition within it. Next, the discourses that theorize about the father and his function are examined, seeking to understand how the father comes to constitute historically as a problematic figure, considered determinant in the constitution of both the individual subject and the functioning of life in society. Finally, this study examines how the figure of the father emerges as an issue in the psychoanalytic field, both in the work of Freud and Lacan, with special attention to the theory of the four discourses of the latter author. This is because with this formulation, at the end of his work, Lacan repositioned the place of the father and the Oedipus complex in the theory and practice of psychoanalysis, as well as delimiting the specificities of psychoanalytic discourse in relation to other discursive modalities. In this way, the approach on the paternal function gains a new contour, opening space to think about a plurality of possible ways to support a subject, in addition to the oedipal norm. Throughout this study, the dialogue of psychoanalysis with authors from the field of social psychology such as Michel Foucault, Judith Butler, Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari is proposed.
