Relatamos neste artigo um estudo sobre as marcas de modalização em resumos científicos de uma perspectiva interlinguística, com fins pedagógicos. Para além da linguagem comum ao gênero em análise na área de Linguística, em que nos concentramos, esse estudo ajuda a melhor caracterizar o resumo, apontando para posturas adotadas no âmbito do discurso científico. Com base na análise do gênero textual e na exploração lexical de corpora comparáveis em português e francês, combinamos abordagens onomasiológica e semasiológica para comparação entre as línguas. Fruto de normas sociais explícitas (periódicos científicos) e implícitas (quadros culturais e epistemológicos), a linguagem empregada, ao mesmo tempo que confirma a predominância da postura epistêmica, típica da ciência, revela que resumos em português brasileiro são também marcados por uma postura de intenção (volitiva), ao passo que resumos em francês por uma postura de autoafirmação (avaliativa), aspectos a serem considerados pela pedagogia das línguas e da tradução. ...

In this article a study of modalization aspects in scientific abstracts through an interlinguistic perspective is described with pedagogical purposes. In this article a study of modalization aspects in scientific abstracts through an interlinguistic perspective is described with pedagogical purposes. Although the focus of this study is the language commonly used in scientific abstracts regarding Linguistics, it helps to better characterize scientific abstracts, highlighting features used within scientific discourse. Based on the analysis of textual genre and lexical exploration of comparable corpora in Portuguese and French, onomasiological and semasiological approaches were combined in order to compare both languages. The language used in the abstracts results from explicit social norms (scientific journals) and implicit social norms (cultural and epistemological aspects) and confirms the predominance of an epistemic attitude – which is typical of science. It also shows that abstracts in Brazilian Portuguese are characterized by an attitude of intention (volitional), while abstracts in French are characterized by an attitude of self-affirmation (evaluative) – aspects to be considered by language and translation pedagogies. ...
