Cryptorave 2016/2017 : a politização da privacidade no maior evento sobre privacidade, segurança e anonímia do Brasil

Abstract

O presente trabalho tem como objeto central a análise da CryptoRave, com foco nas edições ocorridas nos anos de 2016 e 2017. Faz-se importante a análise da CryptoRave pelo fato da mesma servir como um exemplo para uma forma diferenciada de ativismo, onde o foco é no empoderamento do indivíduo via criptografia e na politização de questões como privacidade e vigilância. A CryptoRave é um evento realizado anualmente em São Paulo de forma coletiva por doações de interessados. Neste evento, via palestras, workshops e aulas abertas, questões relacionadas com privacidade, luta por direitos na Internet, criptografia e luta contra a vigilância on-line são apresentadas de forma a ampliar o debate sobre o direito da privacidade e o uso das tecnologias no Brasil. A metodologia utilizada para a pesquisa envolveu o estudo de textos publicados sobre as temáticas tratadas pelo evento, entrevista com os organizadores e participação no evento com um estudo de caso na edição de 2017. A entrevista foi realizada em 2016 via e-mail e foi recolhido material oficial divulgado pelo coletivo organizador. Após a análise da história da luta pela privacidade, do ciberativismo e de suas manifestações, temos como conclusão que a CryptoRave cumpre seu papel de evento educativo e politizador ao transformar a privacidade em problema social e focar no ensino de forma individual. Ao sugerir a tecnopolítica como solução e mostrar como a criptografia pode ajudar pessoas na sua proteção, o objetivo do evento se cumpre seguindo dogmas ciberativistas para o empoderamento dos participantes.

The main objective of this work is the analysis of CryptoRave, focusing on the editions that took place in the years 2016 and 2017. The CryptoRave analysis is important because it serves as an example for a differentiated form of activism, where the focus is on the individual's empowerment through cryptography and the politicization of issues such as privacy and surveillance. CryptoRave is an event held annually in São Paulo collectively by donations of interested parties In this event, via lectures, workshops and open classes, issues related to privacy, fight for rights on the Internet, encryption and fight against on-line surveillance are presented in order to broaden the debate on the right of privacy and the use of technologies in the Brazil. The methodology used for the research involved the study of published texts on the themes dealt with by the event, interview with the organizers and participation in the event with a case study in the 2017 edition. The interview was conducted in 2016 via e-mail and official material released by the collective organizer was collected. After analyzing the history of the struggle for privacy, cyber-activism and its manifestations, we conclude that CryptoRave fulfills its role as an educational and politicizing event by transforming privacy into a social problem and focusing on teaching individually. By suggesting technopolitics as a solution and showing how encryption can help people in their protection, the purpose of the event is met by following cyber-security dogmas for the empowerment of participants.
