Iconologia do sublime entre Friedrich Schiller e Caspar David Friedrich

Abstract

Esta dissertação analisa a possibilidade de uma iconologia do sublime a partir do desenvolvimento das teorias sobre esta categoria estética até o período romântico, proveniente do transbordar da imaginação, e da passagem do sublime da natureza para o sublime na arte. Para isto são usadas como principais referências a teoria de Friedrich Schiller em proximidade com as obras pictóricas de Caspar David Friedrich que exprimem a finitude e pequenez da vida humana diante da imensidão e mistérios da natureza.

This dissertation analyzes the possibility of an iconology of the sublime from the development of theories about this aesthetic category in the romantic period, after the overflowing of the imaginationand the conversion from the sublime of nature to the sublime in art. In this analysis we use as main references the theory of Friedrich Schiller related to the pictorial works of Caspar David Friedrich, works that express the finitude and smallness of human life before the immensity and mysteries of nature.
