Memórias de resistência : um olhar sobre os uniformes da Segunda Guerra Mundial da Sociedade Polônia de Porto Alegre

Abstract

O trabalho analisa os três uniformes militares da Segunda Guerra Mundial que compõem o acervo da Sociedade Polônia de Porto Alegre (Rio Grande do Sul/ Brasil). As vestimentas pertenceram a três associados que se alistaram voluntariamente para lutar na Segunda Guerra Mundial servindo nas Forças Armadas Polonesas no Ocidente. Essa associação possui um rico patrimônio cultural e preserva a memória e a cultura polonesa em solo brasileiro. Para compreender o contexto do surgimento desse acervo, uma revisão histórica foi realizada na tentativa de investigar as relações entre a materialidade e o imaginário construído por esse grupo social. Ao final conclui que por se originarem em um importante evento da história contemporânea, cumprem sua função como objetos testemunho, perpetuando e resignificando suas memórias.

An analysis is presented of three military uniforms of Second World War which integrate the collection of the Sociedade Polônia de Porto Alegre (Rio Grande do Sul / Brazil). The clothing studied belonged to three society members who voluntarily enlisted to serve for the Polish Armed Forces at the Second World War. This society has a rich cultural heritage and preserves the Polish memory and culture in the Brazilian territory. To understand the context of this collection’s surge, a historical review was done to find out the relation between the materialfacts and the imaginary created by this social group. At the end, it is concluded that, for being originated during an important event of contemporary history, the uniforms accomplish the function as testemonials objects, perpetuating and giving new meanings to their memories.
