| pt_BR |
dc.description.abstract | Many elementary school students have difficulties in understanding chemistry and one of the possible causes may be the fact that teaching is usually associated with the memorization of symbols and formulas, without offering students tools to make the connection between the topic addressed and your daily life. The basis for connecting chemistry to students' daily lives is directly linked to the teaching of the periodic table, which is made up of all chemical elements that are essential to the existence of living beings on earth. On the other hand, data show that playfulness can stimulate reasoning. Therefore, the objective of this work was to create a card game that focused on the chemical elements present in the periodic table and the formation of new molecules and substances, in order to reinforce the content taught by the teacher in the classroom. We also assessed the effectiveness of the game. First, the card game was created, then a case study was carried out in two state schools in Rio Grande do Sul, one located in Porto Alegre and the other in Igrejinha. 91 students from two first year classes of high school participated in the application of the game. The evaluation was carried out through pre-test and post-test using multiple choice questions, and the answers obtained were categorized under a quantitative approach. The results show that 78 students out of the 91 students participating in this work affirmed an improvement in knowledge about the proposed content after their participation in the card game and, almost unanimously, 87 students (with the exception of 4 students in class B) ensure that games are useful tools for learning Chemistry content. Thus, it is believed that the use of the card game can be a good teaching-learning strategy for the discipline of chemistry. | en |
