A necessidade da capacitação dos trabalhadores tem se tornado um recorrente na Gestão de Pessoas Internacional. No entanto, a globalização acirra a competitividade, exigindo corte nos gastos. Estudos recentes indicam que as multinacionais instaladas no Brasil não capacitam a força produtiva local. E as empresas brasileiras, desenvolvem seus funcionários na matriz? E no exterior, suas políticas são as mesmas da sede? Desta forma, objetiva o presente estudo verificar qual a relação organizacional das 71 maiores multinacionais brasileiras com sua força de trabalho. Este objetivo será perseguido através de entrevistas em profundidade junto a gestores de nove multinacionais do sul do país e da análise de investimentos, através de balanços sociais, em educação, treinamento e desenvolvimento. Esta pesquisa, de caráter exploratório e cunho quantitativo e qualitativo, analisou estatisticamente informações referentes à geração de empregos diretos e indiretos, investimento em educação, treinamento e desenvolvimento, faturamento e lucro líquido ajustado das principais multinacionais brasileiras.
