O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a rentabilidade e a viabilidade econômica da terminação de cordeiros em confinamento comparando quatro dietas com diferentes proporções de feno de capim Brachiaria brizantha cv. O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a rentabilidade e a viabilidade econômica da terminação de cordeiros em confinamento comparando quatro dietas com diferentes proporções de feno de capim Brachiaria brizantha cv. BRS Piatã e concentrado com grãos de soja in natura ou desativados. Na pesquisa foram utilizadas informações zootécnicas e econômicas de um confinamento de 20 cordeiros e, baseado nessas informações foi feito uma simulação projetando um confinamento com alojamento de 50 animais por ciclo de terminação. Analisou-se o custo fixo, variável, custo operacional efetivo, custo operacional total e custo total, seus componentes e a participação destes no custo total. Em todas as dietas o custo com aquisição de cordeiros para terminação teve a maior participação no custo total, seguido da alimentação, mão de obra e impostos e taxas variáveis. O período de terminação influenciou na quantidade de lotes e número de animais terminados durante o ano e na produção de carcaça. Verificou-se que o aumento do concentrado e uso da soja desativada aumenta a eficiência produtiva e melhora o desempenho econômico na terminação de cordeiros em confinamento, mas todas as dietas foram economicamente inviáveis. ...
