Abstract
This paper consisted of the opening conference of the 13th Annual Meeting of the Brazilian Association of Music Education (Abem). The author reflects upon pedagogy and curriculum based on three historical periods in terms of pedagogical and curricular knowledge and action: 1) the period of the Illuminated Neutrality; 2) that of Absolute Suspicion; 3) and that of the Challenge of Pure Difference.
