Abstract in Portuguese (Brasil)

The objective of this thesis is to create forecasting tools for day-ahead or intraday power system operation, forecasting photovoltaic (PV) generation, wind generation, load, and vertical load at the transmission level. To find the best models, it is necessary to collect the forecasting along with the predictor datasets. Preprocessing is also necessary to ensure the datasets respected some qualities to be fed into the model. The forecasting models are based on well-known and reliable statistical methods used for time series analysis. In the end, the best model for each forecasting dataset is found and its performance is measured. The results of forecasting load and vertical load are satisfying, showing a very low percentage error, maintaining an overall constant range of error. As to the forecast of PV and wind generation, the results can be acceptable for some raw estimation, but the performance of the forecast can be improved by using nonlinear models or models that can address volatility. ...
