A percepção de mulheres agricultoras da Comunidade do Arroio do Padre - Itati/RS sobre as relações de gênero

Abstract

O presente trabalho de pesquisa teve como temática principal as questões de gênero visibilizadas em práticas cotidianas que compunham as experiências das mulheres que vivem no campo. Especificamente, a investigação foi realizada com três mulheres que vivem em uma pequena comunidade pertencente a cidade de Itati, situada no Litoral Norte do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. O objetivo principal era identificar as percepções que as mulheres tinham sobre as relações de gênero em sua comunidade. Para construir uma resposta ao objetivo traçado, foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas e anotações em um caderno de campo. Como resultados identifiquei que todas percebem que a divisão do trabalho entre homens e mulheres é cultural. No entanto, algumas perpetuam essa divisão deixando tarefas “mais pesadas” para os companheiros. Mas, todas sabem que podem executar tais tarefas, seria uma questão de se “acostumar”. Percebi também, que elas não se comparavam somente com os homens, mas, sentiam a necessidade de falar sobre as mulheres que vivem na cidade. Segundo seus depoimentos, apesar das mulheres que vivem no campo terem buscado mais informações, as mulheres que vivem na cidade têm mais chance de estudar. Apesar disso, elas pontuaram aspectos que as diferenciam das urbanas, tais como, possuir uma “sabedoria das coisas da terra”, ter uma vida mais saudável e viver mais coletivamente.

The main theme of this research was gender issues that were visible in everyday practices that comprised the experiences of women living in the field. Specifically, the investigation was carried out with three women living in a small community belonging to the city of Itati, located in the Northern Coast of the State of Rio Grande do Sul. The objective was to identify the perceptions that women had about gender relations in their community. To construct a response to the goal outlined, semi-structured interviews and annotations were carried out in a field notebook. As results, I have identified that all realize that the division of labor between men and women is cultural. However, some perpetuate this division leaving tasks "heavier" for the companions. However, all know that they can perform such tasks; it would be a matter of getting "accustomed". I also noticed that they were not only comparable to men, but they felt the need to talk about women living in the city. According to their testimonies, although women who live in the countryside have sought more information, women living in the city are more likely to study. Nonetheless, they scored a number of things that set them apart from urban ones, such as possessing a "wisdom of earthly things," living a healthier life, and living more collectively.
