This monograph aims to analyze the Pif-Paf magazine (created in 1964 by Millôr Fernandes), an important landmark in the history of the Brazilian alternative press in the context of resistance against the Civil-Military Dictatorship of 1964. In order to understand it as a historical source, it is analyzed its various cartoons and images, from the idea of media as a tool to form and propagate opinion within society. The journal is analyzed from two central points: the political humor as a weapon of resistance against dictatorship; the problematization of gender issues from the representations of women used in the journal. For this analysis, concepts such as "representation", "gender" and "humor" will be used in an attempt to problematize and contextualize the themes present in it. From those points that guide the research, we will conclude that the force of humor as a political weapon lies in the destabilization of the object by approaching ridicule in an attempt to diminish those of whom he speaks. Even though it was a magazine that challenged the dictatorship's authoritarian and moralistic molds, there was a strong reproduction of gender bias and male chauvinism by its authors. ...
