Este artigo narra como o Banco Mundial entrou no campo das agências internacionais de saúde, tornando-se a organização hegemônica e reconfigurando esse campo ao longo de apenas uma década. O caso é analisado utilizando- se três referências teóricas com diferentes concepções paradigmáticas: a teoria institucionalista, a teoria de campos de poder e a teoria crítica de discurso.
