Violência, transexualidade e representações sociais na mídia

Abstract

Este Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso tem como tema as representações veiculadas nos canais eletrônicos de mídia acerca dos homicídios de pessoas trans. O recorte de pesquisa são os assassinatos de pessoas trans ocorridos no estado do Rio Grande do Sul, entre janeiro de 2017 e junho de 2018. Nesse período, segundo a ANTRA, foram cometidos doze assassinatos contra essa parcela da população, dos quais onze foram divulgados em portais de notícias. Os onze casos noticiados são analisados, tendo como guia a seguinte pergunta de pesquisa: De que forma a mídia representa os homicídios de pessoas trans em sua narrativa sobre os crimes? O objetivo geral é: analisar as Representações Sociais dos homicídios de pessoas trans na mídia. A hipótese que norteou o trabalho é que as representações desses assassinatos na mídia implicam na invisibilização transfóbica, ou seja, tratam esses crimes como comuns e não aventam a possibilidade de serem crimes de ódio, motivados pela transfobia. A partir da análise das notícias foi possível identificar que há uma narrativa que se limita ao momento da investigação policial, não abordando o prosseguimento dos casos em outras instâncias judiciais. Outro ponto que surgiu, ao longo da análise, foi a invisibilidade ou a visibilidade precária da identidade trans nas narrativas midiáticas. Na maioria das notícias, as vítimas são identificadas pelo seu nome registro, e em nenhuma delas a identidade trans foi associada a motivação do crime, o que implica na invisibilização transfóbica.

This monography has as its theme the representations in electronic media about the murder of trans people. The research is the murders of trans people in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, between January 2017 and June 2018. According to ANTRA, twelve murders were committed against these persons, of which eleven were reported on news eletronic portals. The eleven cases reported are analyzed with the following research question as a guide: How does the media portray the murders of trans people in their crime narrative? The overall goal is: to analyze the Social Representations of the murders of trans people in the media. The hypothesis that guided the work is that the representations of these murders imply the transfobic invisibility, that is, treat these crimes as common and do not propose the possibility of being crimes of hate, motivated by the transphobia. From the analysis of the news it was possible to identify that there is a narrative limited to the moment of the police investigation, not addressing the continuation of the cases in other judicial instances. Another point that emerged throughout the analysis was the invisibility or precarious visibility of trans identity in media narratives. In most of the news the victims are identified by their registry names, and in none of them the trans identity was associated with motivation of the crime, which implies in the transfobic invisibilization.
