Abstract in Portuguese

This paper makes an incursion in the History of Science and discusses different philosophical perspectives and their interpretations regarding the notion of "scientific method" and, consequently, approaches some aspects regarding the nature of science. The aim is to question inadequate conceptions still very present in Scientific Education concerning the "scientific method" as an algorithmic set, objective and rigid, of rules to make science. Some implications of this empiricist-positivist inheritance for science teaching are mentioned throughout the text. It is argued that, more important than just criticize these conceptions, it is necessary reconceptualize the notion of "scientific method", associating it to different procedures, standards and experimental techniques, computational and mathematical that are intrinsic to the scientific practices in most different fields of science. ...
