Objetivo: Avaliar a qualidade de vida de pacientes anticoagulados por prótese valvar mecânica cardíaca e verificar a associação do sexo, idade, posição do implante e tempo de cirurgia valvar com o escore. Método: Estudo transversal prospectivo com pacientes ambulatoriais, portadores de prótese valvar mecânica cardíaca há no mínimo seis meses, de ambos os sexos, com idade≥18 anos, no período de 01-05/2015. Foi utilizado o questionário Duke Anticoagulation Satisfaction Scale (DASS) Resultados: Dados preliminares de 111 pacientes (previsto n=170) indicaram predomínio de homens (53,2%), cardiopatia reumática (30,6%), com idade média de 59±12 anos. A média total do DASS foi de 49±12. Houve associação do sexo masculino (P=0,002) e da idade (P=0,02) com melhor qualidade de vida. Conclusão: A qualidade de vida do DASS total foi considerada satisfatória. Observou-se que quanto maior a idade, maior a sua qualidade de vida e que os homens tiveram melhor qualidade de vida que as mulheres. ...
