The aim of this work was to address similiraties between George Orwell's 1984 and three episodes of the TV series Black Mirror by Charlie Brooker. A comparative study was conducted in order to stress out how the control function, the surveillance, the role of the political figure and other characteristics that make the dystopic narrative genre are dealt in each work.
