Formação de leitores e bibliotecas comunitárias: um olhar à práxis emancipatória

Abstract

O estudo apresenta como o conceito de emancipação contribui para a formação de leitores através das bibliotecas comunitárias. A questão de pesquisa levantada é: como a biblioteca comunitária pode ser um espaço de emancipação dos cidadãos? Este trabalho possui o objetivo de apresentar as diferentes narrativas dos atores que atuam e frequentam as bibliotecas comunitárias através da formação de leitores; mapear os processos emancipatórios que ocorrem nas bibliotecas comunitárias e; relacionar ações de formação de leitores com a práxis da emancipação. Estudo de abordagem qualitativa realiza-se através de entrevista com leitores, mediadores de leitura e observação de mediação da leitura e ações culturais em três bibliotecas comunitárias da cidade de Porto Alegre durante os meses de março a junho de 2018. Conclui que as bibliotecas comunitárias pesquisadas são espaços ativos na formação de leitores por meio de atividades que também promovem a troca de afetos, a formação da cidadania e da emancipação. Leitores e mediadores se identificam com diversos conceitos acerca do tema, principalmente na ideia de uma biblioteca que seja centro cultural. Salienta a importância do conceito de emancipação na conscientização de si próprio através da leitura.

The study presents how the concept of emancipation contributes to the formation of readers through community libraries. The research question raised is: how the community library can be an emancipation space for citizens? This work aims to present the different narratives of the actors that act and attend the community libraries through the formation of readers; map the emancipatory processes that occur in community libraries and; to relate actions of formation of readers with the praxis of emancipation. A qualitative study is carried out through interviews with readers, reading mediators and observation of reading mediation and cultural actions in three community libraries of the city of Porto Alegre during the months of March and June of 2018. It concludes that the community libraries researched are active spaces in the formation of readers through activities that also promote the exchange of affections, the formation of citizenship and emancipation. Readers and mediators identify with various concepts about the theme, especially the idea of a library that is a cultural center.
