Diastema interincisal superior associado ao freio labial hipertrófico e a hereditariedade : relato de caso

Abstract

O diastema interincisal superior é caracterizado por um espaço ou ausência de contato entre os incisivos centrais. O diastema pode gerar consequências estéticas e funcionais, como o acúmulo de biofilme, dificuldade de higienização e interferência na fonação. Alguns fatores etiológicos são associados ao diastema, dentre eles estão o freio labial superior hipertrófico e a hereditariedade. A presença de diastema e do freio labial com hipertrofia podem causar alterações na integridade da saúde bucal dos pacientes. Diante disso, presente trabalho tem como objetivo fazer uma revisão sistematizada da literatura e relatar um caso clínico de diastema interincisal superior associado com freio labial hipertrófico e possível relação hereditária. No caso relatado a paciente era do sexo feminino e tinha como queixa principal o espaço entre os dois incisivos centrais superiores. O tratamento realizado foi a frenectomia labial superior.

The superior interincisal diastema is characterized by a space or absence of contact between the central incisors. This space can generate aesthetic and functional consequences, such as the accumulation of biofilm, difficulty in hygiene and interference in phonation. Numerous etiological factors are associated with the diastema, among them are the hypertrophic upper lip brake and heredity. The presence of diastema and the lip brake with hypertrophy may cause changes in the integrity of the patients' oral health. Therefore, this study aims to systematically review the literature and report a clinical case of upper interincisal diastema associated with hypertrophic labial brake and possible hereditary relationship, which was treated in the Discipline of Buco-Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology III of the Faculty of Dentistry of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. In the case reported the patient was female and had as main complaint the space between the two upper central incisors. The initial treatment in the case was upper lip frenectomy.
