Quanto vale? O valor econômico da museália

Abstract

O presente trabalho tem como objetivo a investigação da problemática de valoração econômica da museália. O objeto museológico possui valores relacionados a dois âmbitos: ao valor simbólico e ao valor econômico (financeiro). Ao longo do trabalho serão identificados os tipos de valores inseridos nessas duas perspectivas. No primeiro momento, a partir dos teóricos como Krzysztof Pomian, Waldisa Rússio e Ulpiano T. Bezerra de Meneses, dentre outros, há a apresentação de diversos valores atribuídos ao acervo museológico. Dentre os mesmos, destaca-se o valor econômico que é possível atribuir aos bens culturais. Investiga-se a prática da valoração econômica das coleções museológicas e algumas de suas possíveis finalidades, sendo a principal delas, a salvaguarda dos bens culturais, tendo como um dos aportes teóricos Françoise Benhamou. Identifica-se cinco casos de valoração econômica de acervos museológicos feitas em museus do Rio Grande do Sul. As coleções possuem as tipologias: artística, histórica e de ciências naturais. A análise dos casos ocorreu a partir da interpretação dos dados obtidos nas entrevistas realizadas com os profissionais envolvidos no processo valorativo. A participação do museólogo nos estudos de caso também foi investigada. As informações obtidas por meio desse instrumento de pesquisa e análise possibilitou que se iniciasse a fazer alguns rascunhos sobre a relação que pode haver entre a valoração monetária da museália e a Museologia. É uma área que carece de diálogos, estudos e políticas públicas, mas que pode se tornar uma ferramenta a fim de salvaguardar as coleções e afirmar o valor patrimonial das instituições culturais.

The present work has as objective the investigation of the problematic of economic valuation of museum objects. The museological object has values related to two scopes: the symbolic value and the economic (financial) value. Throughout the work the types of values inserted in these two perspectives are identified. In the first moment, from the theorists such as Krzysztof Pomian, Waldisa Rússio and Ulpiano T. Bezerra de Meneses, among others, there are several values attributed to the museological collection. Among them, the economic value that can be attributed to cultural goods stands out. It is investigated the practice of economic valuation of museological collections and some of its possible purposes, the main one being the safeguarding of cultural assets, that has the theoretical contributions of Françoise Benhamou. It identifies five cases of economic valuation of museological collections made in museums of Rio Grande do Sul. The collections are of the types artistic, historical and natural sciences. The analysis of the cases was made from the interpretation of the data informed in the interviews conducted with the professionals involved in the valuation process. The museologist's participation in the case studies was also investigated. The information obtained through this research and analysis instrument made it possible to begin to make some drafts on the relationship that may exist between the monetary valuation of museum objects and Museology. It is an area that needs dialogues, studies and public policies, but it can become a tool to safeguard the collections and affirm the heritage value of cultural institutions.
