Livrarias e editoras : um mercado de trabalho para bibliotecários?

Abstract

O presente estudo de caráter quali-quantitativo objetiva discutir a possibilidade de atuação do bibliotecário em livrarias e editoras na cidade de Porto Alegre/RS, questionando se estes seriam possíveis ambientes de atuação destes profissionais. Assim, buscou-se traçar um breve perfil/histórico da profissão de bibliotecário; identificar suas incumbências/atribuições na contemporaneidade; detectar enunciações sobre esta atuação em editoras e livrarias na literatura cientifica brasileira na área biblioteconomia e, ainda, identificar a percepção de bibliotecários que trabalham em livrarias e editoras no município e quais suas principais atribuições. Para tal, feita a revisão na literatura, a coleta de dados ocorreu de duas formas: por meio de entrevistas com bibliotecárias propositalmente selecionadas que foram considerados relevantes aos objetivos dessa pesquisa e via a busca por menções da atuação desse profissional nesses espaços em três fontes: BRAPCI, LUME e ENANCIB. Os resultados evidenciaram que existem bibliotecários atuando nessa área, contudo, não de forma significativa. Além disso, as vagas não são percebidas com clareza pelos próprios profissionais. No que diz respeito às entrevistas, constatou-se que é recorrente o serviço de catalogação na fonte a partir da prestação de serviços. Esta pesquisa aponta as possibilidades do mercado de trabalho não tradicional para estes profissionais

The study aims to discuss the possibility of the librarian’s professional action in bookstores and book publishers in the city of Porto Alegre/RS, verifying if these would be feasible acting venues for such professionals. Thus, a brief historical profile of the librarian’s profession has been set, identifying its attributions in contemporaneity, as well as the detection of enunciations of such action in publishers and bookstores inside Brazilian scientific literature in the Library Science area, and still, seeing the perception of librarians who have worked in bookstores and book publishers in the city and their main attributions. In order to do so, having done the literature review, data collection has taken place in two ways: by making interviews with librarians purposively selected and who have been considered relevant to the purpose of this research and also through the mentioning of such professionals in these spaces in three sources: BRAPCI, LUME and ENANCIB. Results have shown that there are librarians working in this area, however, not in a significant way. Furthermore, job vacancies are not clearly perceived by the professionals themselves. Regarding the interviews, it was verified that the service of cataloguing-in-publication is recurring on the provision of services. This research point the possibilities of the non-conventional Market for librarian professional is addressed.
