Futuro profissional na perspectiva dos alunos de Ciências Contábeis da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul

Abstract

O mercado de trabalho na área da Contabilidade no Brasil vem passando por profundas modificações, desafiando as universidades brasileiras na adequação das grades curriculares dos cursos de graduação, conforme necessário. Assim, descrever as perspectivas que os estudantes de Ciências Contábeis da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul têm sobre o seu futuro profissional irá permitir compreender as suas preferências e motivações na área contábil, contribuindo com as instituições de ensino nessas adequações. A pesquisa descritiva foi realizada na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande Sul, contando com uma amostra de 91 alunos do curso de Ciências Contábeis, sendo, destes, 33 alunos do primeiro semestre, 27 estudantes do quarto e 31 do oitavo semestre. Os resultados obtidos revelam que a maioria dos discentes é do sexo masculino, têm entre 18 e 24 anos, estudaram, tanto o Ensino Fundamental quanto o Ensino Médio, em escolas públicas e que apenas 13% possui ou realiza outra graduação. Aproximadamente 49% dos alunos trabalha na área contábil, havendo destaque para as áreas de Auditoria e Perícia, com 8 estudantes em cada. A maior parte dos alunos teve como principais motivações para escolherem o curso, o fato de acreditarem que o mercado de trabalho proporciona boas oportunidades de emprego e por terem facilidades em cálculos matemáticos. Observou-se que os alunos do oitavo semestre possuem menor expectativa de renda mensal para após a conclusão do curso, quando comparados aos alunos do primeiro e quarto semestre. Por fim, destacou-se que cerca de 30% dos alunos pretendem, em um horizonte de 5 anos, estarem empregados em outro local, que 26% tem a expectativa de laborar em Órgãos Públicos na área da Contabilidade e que 25% pretende trabalhar com Auditoria.

The job market concerning the accounting area in Brazil has been undergoing profound changes, challenging Brazilian Universities to adapt, as necessary, their curriculum of undergraduate courses. Therefore, describe the perspectives that the students of Accounting Sciences at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul have about their professional future will allow to understand their preferences and motivations in the accounting area, contributing to educational institutions regarding these adjustments. The descriptive research was carried out at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, counting on a sample of 91 students from the Accounting Sciences course of which 33 students were from the first semester, 27 students from the fourth and 31 from the eighth semester. The results show that the majority of the students are male, between 18 and 24 years of age. They studied both Elementary and High School in public schools and only 13% is already graduated or engaged on other courses. Approximately 49% of the students work in the accounting area, highlighting the Audit and Expertise areas, with 8 students each. Most of the students had as main motivations to choose the course, to believe that the job market provides good employment opportunities and to have increased ease in mathematical calculations. It was observed that the eighth semester students expect a lower monthly income after graduating, if compared to the first and fourth semester students. Finally, it was pointed out that about 30% of the students intend, within 5 years, to be employed elsewhere. 26% expect to work in public bodies in the Accounting area and 25% intend to work with Audit.
