Ética intercultural : do conhecer ao re-conhecer o outro

Abstract

Este estudo busca, inicialmente, refletir a violência na constituição do Outro presente no pensamento denominado de Orientalismo, teoria analisada por Edward W. Said, na obra Orientalismo: o Oriente como invenção do Ocidente (2007). Posteriormente, apresenta algumas reflexões que emergem do campo da Ética Intercultural, formulada pelo pensador chileno Ricardo Salas, de forma a evidenciar e, ao mesmo tempo, mostrar as contradições de dois aspectos do Orientalismo: a ausência de diálogo intercultural e de pressupostos éticos; e a evidência de uma moral que disfarçava a intenção consciente de tornar o nativo um objeto de lucro, reificando, assim, sua condição. A proposta de uma ética intercultural carrega elementos fundamentais para pensarmos uma proposta de educação intercultural, tecida pela compreensão de re-conhecimento.

This study initially seeks to think about the violence of the constitution of the Other that is present in the concept called Orientalism, a theory analyzed by Edward W. Said in his book Orientalism: western conceptions of the Orient. After that, it brings some thoughts that come from the field of Intercultural Ethics, created by the Chilean writer Ricardo Salas, as a way to confirm and, at the same time, show the contradictions of two aspects of Orientalism: the absence of intercultural dialogue and ethical conjectures; and the evidence of a morale that masked the conscious intention of turning natives into commodities and reifying their condition. The idea of intercultural ethics carries fundamental elements for the thinking of a proposal for intercultural education, which should be weaved by the comprehension of recognition.
