This work proposes the use of a Boost converter that steps up voltage in the management of the electrical energy produced by electrical motors while in braking transients. Ultimately, the objective is to transfer the electrical energy produced in the braking intervals and accumulated in supercapacitors, which would be wasted on braking pads or braking resistors, back to the batteries that feed the motor. The project of the energy flow device was followed by computational simulations of the electrical circuits with the aid of the PSIM 64-bit Standard Version 11.0.1.0.564 and Micro-Cap 10.0.9.2 softwares, respectively, which were of great help along the process. On the implementation and prototyping stage of the project, the software EAGLE 6.6.0 was utilized in the conception of the printed board circuit and, as a fact, the (Easily Applicable Graphical Layout Editor) nicknames is justified. With the help of a DS1104 R&D Controller Board, the real time interaction and monitoring of the converter device was implemented, based on a program made in an all graphical programming environment provided by the modeling tool Simulink integrated to MATLAB. Also, a supervisory and HMI was developed using the dSPACE ControlDesk 3.7.5 software in a way to provide the direct interaction and real time data acquisition. The device, ultimately, presented a 85% efficiency operating on a closed loop and providing a average electrical current of 1 ampère to the batteries being charged. ...
