Imigrantes na escola : uma reflexão sobre políticas linguísticas e ensino de português

Abstract

Esta monografia traz como tema as políticas linguísticas e o ensino de português para imigrantes nas escolas públicas municipais de Porto Alegre. Por meio de coleta de materiais documentais e revisão de literatura, entrevistas com coordenação pedagógica, professores e alunos da escola e breves observações de aulas em turmas do Ensino Fundamental anos iniciais da educação regular e da Educação de Jovens e Adultos realizados em uma escola municipal de ensino fundamental de Porto Alegre, o trabalho descreve brevemente algumas práticas organizacionais, pedagógicas e linguísticas adotadas nesta escola. Para orientar esta trajetória, discorro brevemente sobre políticas linguísticas, políticas linguísticas educacionais e políticas linguísticas educacionais para imigrantes no Brasil. Com base nos dados coletados em quatro visitas à escola, faço um breve histórico do ingresso dos imigrantes na escola e reflito sobre alguns relatos que os participantes me contaram relativos à imigração. Também discorro sobre o entendimento de que a presença dos imigrantes na escola teve como consequência a elaboração e adoção de práticas pedagógicas diferenciadas para o ensino de português para eles. Por estar baseado em estudos de políticas linguísticas educacionais, este incipiente estudo visa a contribuir para o aprimoramento das ações pedagógicas em questão e para a reflexão sobre políticas linguísticas educacionais para imigrantes no Brasil.

This monograph focuses on linguistic policies and the teaching of Portuguese for immigrants in the municipal public schools of Porto Alegre. Through the collection of documentary materials and literature review, interviews with the pedagogical coordination and students of the school, anecdotes of students and teachers and observation of classes in Elementary School classes - initial years of regular education and Youth and Adult Education (EJA) held in a municipal elementary school in Porto Alegre, this study describes the pedagogical and linguistic practices adopted at this school. To guide this trajectory, I will briefly discuss, in the second chapter, on linguistic policies, on linguistic educational policies and on linguistic educational policies for immigrants in Brazil. In the third chapter, I make explicit the research questions and the methodological procedures for collecting the data at issue. In the fourth chapter, I present the universe of municipal public schools in Porto Alegre with regard to Elementary Education and of Youth and Adults Education. In the description phase of the collected data, I brief retell the history of the school, of the entry of immigrants, of the instances of pedagogical counseling and of the elaboration of teaching material. In the item "In the classroom", I bring interactions and anecdotes from students and teachers. Once in the analysis phase of the collected data, I talk about the understanding that the presence of immigrants in the school had as consequence the elaboration and adoption of different pedagogical practices for teaching them Portuguese. Finally, because it is based on linguistic policy studies, this incipient study is also intended to contribute to the improvement of the pedagogical actions at issue and to the reflection on linguistic educational policies for immigrants in Brazil.
