The recent growth in usage of renewable power sources to produce electrical energy comes up with the necessity of new equipments that adapt the generated en-ergy in order to connect to the mains grid, like the inverters. This document presents a study of the blocks needed to synchronize a grid-tied inverter and their later implemen-tation in an embedded system that controls an inverter module. At first, the photovoltaic inverters are presented, as well as the normalization required to their application. Next, the operation of single-phase and three-phase inverters is explained. After that, the synchronization technique SPLL is presented, dimensioned and simulated. A study of power flow control is shown next. In the section of implementation, the Renesas SK-S7G2 platform, in which the system is developed, is presented, as well as the Semikron inverter module and the circuits used to interface the components. Performed experi-ments show that the PLL system used in synchronization with the mains grid is robust and has a low response time, which allows for synchronization as fast as 14 grid cycles. At last, it is presented the difficulties faced during the usage of the power module, which inserts noise into the instrumentation circuits. ...
