Abstract in Portuguese (Brasil)

This project presents the calculation of the electric field distribution in a high voltage substation in a simplified and efficient way. The impact of electric fields on humans and their biological effects, the limit of exposure to these fields defined in current legislation and their influence on substation projects will be addressed in the motivations to carry out this work. The necessary physical concepts such as Coulomb's law, the superposition principle, Maxwell's equations and Gauss's law are presented for the theoretical basis of the calculation of the electric field. Based on the researches, the Equivalent Loads Method (MCE) was chosen for the calculation of the electric field. From the chosen method is presented the algorithm elaborated for the calculation in order to simplify and facilitate its execution and elaboration of different models. The algorithm is validated based on two known examples of results from two different references. The electric field calculations are performed for two high voltage substations and the results are compared with actual measurements data at the sites. Finally, the results obtained regarding the approximation of the calculations to the measured values are presented and what this method can improve in the process of attending to the maximum levels of the electric field and in the process of elaboration or adaptation of the substation projects. ...
