Esta pesquisa situa-se no campo dos estudos culturais e tem por objetivo identificar o conjunto de processos socioculturais construídos a partir do fenômeno de hibridação presentes no audiovisual Stand By Me produzido pelo Playing For Change (PFC) que desempenham a função de “conectar o mundo através da música”. Para tal, incialmente apresenta-se um panorama geral da organização PFC contextualizando-a a partir de uma perspectiva social, político-econômica e cultural. Após, realiza-se o levantamento de dados sobre os músicos participantes e sobre a forma de produzir o vídeo, assim como se elabora a revisão bibliográfica trazendo algumas ideias sobre hibridação cultural e cultura da convergência, pertinentes para a pesquisa, a partir dos autores Stuart Hall, García Canclini, George Yúdice e Henry Jenkins. Por fim, descrevem-se e interpretam-se os fenômenos encontrados, refletindo sobre os dados empíricos dentro da perspectiva teórica sociocultural do consumo adotada nesta pesquisa. ...

This research is in the field of cultural studies and aims to identidy the set of sociocultural processes built from the hibridization present in the Stand By Me audiovisual produced by Playing For Change (PFC) that play the role of “connecting the world through music”. Firstly, an overview of the PFC organization is presented, contextualizing it from a social, political-economic and cultural perspective. Afterwards, data collection about the participating musicians and about how to produce the video, as well as the bibliographical review is elaborated bringing some ideas about cultural hybridization and culture of convergence, that are pertinent to the research, from the authors Stuart Hall, García Canclini, George Yúdice and Henry Jenkins. At last, the phenomena found are described and interpreted, and the analysis will be performed on the empirical data within the sociocultural theoretical perspective of the consumption adopted in this research. ...
