O Perdão : um romance da Belle Époque porto-alegrense

Abstract

Este trabalho pretende analisar a obra publicada por Andradina de Oliveira no ano de 1910, que retrata uma história de adultério com base na estética naturalista. O objetivo da análise é, principalmente, focar nas questões concernentes à cidade e à mulher, aos estereótipos femininos abordados na obra e em como a autora os relaciona ao meio urbano em que essas mulheres vivem. Mais do que isso, pretende-se analisar a própria Andradina de Oliveira e a forma como ela se insere tanto na história do jornalismo feminino, quanto no movimento feminista literário. O trabalho possui três capítulos, sendo que o primeiro aborda a autora e o feminismo, o segundo, a cidade e como ela se relaciona com as mulheres, e, por último, os estereótipos da santa e da pecadora representados através das personagens do romance. Conclui-se com as intensões da autora ao escrever a obra, e a forma com a qual seus discursos se encaixam na escola naturalista da literatura.

Forgiveness – a romance from the Belle Époque of Porto Alegre aims at analyzing the book published by Andradina de Oliveira in 1910, which portrays a story of adultery based on aesthetic naturalism. The main objective is to focus on issues concerning to the city and the woman, on feminine stereotypes present in the book, and on how the author relates them to the urban environment where these women live. Furthermore, we intend to analyze Andradina de Oliveira, and how she makes herself present in the history of female journalism and feminist literary movement. The paper is divided in three chapters: the first one discusses the author and feminism; the second one, the city and how it relates to women; and the last one, the stereotypes of saint and sinner represented through the characters of the romance. We conclude referring to the intentions of the author in writing the book, and to how her speeches fit into the naturalism literary movement.
