Cerâmicas livres de metais : sistema IPS E.MAX

Abstract

A crescente procura por tratamentos estéticos tanto em dentes anteriores como posteriores, tem levado ao surgimento de coroas unitárias livres de metal, entre os novos sistemas cerâmicos destaca-se o sistema IPS E.MAX. Objetivo: revisar a literatura cientifica sobre o sistema IPS E.MAX evidenciando sua classificação, indicações, contraindicações, vantagens e desvantagens e avaliar a partir de um relato de caso o resultado clínico e a satisfação do paciente quanto a reabilitação. Material e método: foi utilizado como objeto de estudo artigos científicos, livros e catálogos coletivos disponíveis nas bibliotecas, MEDLINE, Scielo e correio eletrônico sobre o referido sistema, publicados entre os anos de 2005 a 2015. O Relato de caso descrito foi realizado no Curso de extensão de metal ƒree da FO/UFRGS. Conclusão: O sistema IPS E.MAX constitui-se hoje em uma excelente opção reabilitadora, porém o cirurgião dentista deve conhecer as propriedades deste sistema e seguir rigorosamente seu protocolo clínico de utilização para garantir o sucesso do trabalho executado, longevidade da restauração e satisfação do paciente.

The increasing demand for esthetic treatments either in front and posterior teeth, has led to the creation of single metal-free crowns, among the new dental ceramics that stands the IPS E.MAX system. Objective: To review the scientific literature on the IPS E.MAX system highlighting their classification, indications, contraindications, advantages and disadvantages and evaluate from a case report by a clinical outcome and patient satisfaction with the rehabilitation. Material and Methods: was utilized as an object of scientific articles study, books and union catalogs available in libraries, MEDLINE, Scielo and e-mail on this system, published between the years 2005 to 2015. The described case report was carried out during the Course Metal ƒree extension of FO / UFRGS. Conclusion: The IPS E.MAX system provides today an excellent rehabilitative option, but the dental surgeon should know the properties of this system and closely follow their clinical protocol application to ensure success of the work performed, the restoration longevity and patient satisfaction.
