O presente trabalho aborda o tema Engajamento no Trabalho e Absenteísmo, verificando a relação entre os temas e a importância das empresas estarem atentas aos efeitos do absenteísmo e buscarem ações para melhorar esse indicador tão importante. Discorre também sobre Psicologia Positiva nas Organizações. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo verificar a relação do engajamento no trabalho dos colaboradores que faltam e dos que não faltam ao trabalho. Participaram do estudo 107 colaboradores do quadro de pessoal de uma empresa privada do comércio varejista de alimentos, localizada no Rio Grande do Sul. Os instrumentos utilizados foram um questionário sociodemográfico e seis escalas psicométricas para avaliação de engajamento no trabalho, também foram coletados dados sobre absenteísmo com a área de Gestão de Pessoas da empresa. Os principais resultados indicam que há um engajamento mediano dos trabalhadores, que sentem prazer com as atividades que desenvolvem na empresa, e que os colaboradores que faltam voluntariamente apresentaram maior engajamento no trabalho. Aliados às respostas qualitativas dos colaboradores, os dados sugerem que o absenteísmo é utilizado também como uma estratégia de coping. ...
