A mídia televisiva exerce grande influência sobre o comportamento e vocabulário dos adolescentes do meio rural. Esse fato estará sendo abordado nesta monografia, com base num referencial teórico e a partir de observações feitas em escolas públicas da rede municipal e estadual de ensino dos municípios de São José do Sul e Pareci Novo, localizados no interior do Rio grande do Sul. Com o auxílio de uma entrevista contendo questões referentes a programas de televisão, os adolescentes entre 12 e 18 anos, do sexo masculino e feminino, manifestaram seus gostos, seus interesses pela variada programação televisiva brasileira. Além da entrevista escrita com os estudantes, foram feitos contatos com professores destas escolas, por meio de uma conversa direta, a fim de obter informações sobre o vocabulário destes alunos. A partir desta entrevista percebe-se que os jovens permanecem mais tempo diante da televisão do que em sala de aula, na escola. A intenção de entretenimento e informação prevalece ao assistirem TV. Estes jovens não procuram assistir programas educativos, talvez por serem confundidos com os conteúdos dos livros didáticos. O comportamento consumista destes jovens impulsionado pela televisão é visto diariamente nas roupas que vestem, no corte de cabelo e nos acessórios que usam. Os relacionamentos afetivos entre estes adolescentes são muito superficiais e pouco duradouros. Em seu vocabulário há expressões de pouca riqueza verbal e muitas gírias. Mesmo com o grande avanço tecnológico e mediático os adolescentes inseridos neste contexto valorizam muito a televisão. E neste contexto a escola deve fazer o papel de mediadora, tornando estes adolescentes indivíduos mais críticos em relação aos programas de TV que assistem. ...

The television medium has great influence on behavior and vocabulary of teenagers in rural areas. This fact is being discussed in this monograph, based on a theoretical and from observations in public schools in the municipal and state education in the municipalities of San Jose and South seems new, located in state of Rio Grande do Sul with the aid of an interview containing issues relating to television programs, young people between 12 and 18 years, male and female, have expressed their tastes, their television programming for the varied interests in Brazil. Besides written interviews with students, contacts were made with teachers at these schools, through a direct conversation, to information about the vocabulary of these students. From this interview it is clear that young people stay longer in the face of television than in the classroom at school. The intention of entertainment and information prevails when watching TV. These young people do not seek attend educational programs, perhaps because they were confused with content of textbooks. The consumption behavior of these young driven by television is seen daily in the clothes we wear, the hairstyle and the accessories they wear. Affective relationships among these adolescents are very superficial and short term. In his vocabulary for verbal expressions of little wealth and many idioms. Even with the great technological and media teens inserted in this context is highly valued television. And in this context school must take the role of mediator, making these teens individuals more critical of the TV programs they watch. ...
