No presente artigo, realizamos uma reflexão sobre os pressupostos da diplomacia midiática (GILBOA, 2002), conceito do campo das Relações Internacionais que busca estabelecer formas de utilização da mídia noticiosa para a consecução de interesses pelos Estados. Como sua estruturação é relacionada à percepção de uma força das notícias distribuídas globalmente, trabalhamos questões relativas ao jornalismo internacional, a partir de autores como Aguiar (2008) e Traquina (2000) e política e visibilidade midiática com Gomes (2004) e Weber (2006), entre outros. Ao final, analisamos possibilidades e limitações da diplomacia midiática, examinando a divulgação do acordo nuclear entre Brasil, Irã e Turquia, em 2010. ...
