Este trabalho tem como tema principal de pesquisa, as “professoras-mães e a adaptação na Educação Infantil”. A questão central pergunta: Ser professora-mãe modifica ou interfere na compreensão e na relação com os processos de adaptação das crianças na Educação Infantil? O objetivo principal desta pesquisa é verificar o que as professoras-mães dizem sobre os processos de adaptação de seus filhos para, a partir disso, concluir se o fato de ser mãe implica nos modos de ser professora diante dos processos de adaptação de seus alunos. Para responder ao problema de pesquisa, o material empírico foi produzido a partir de entrevistas narrativas com 4 professoras-mães, e de observações do processo de adaptação de alunos de uma turma de nível 1, com alunos de 3 a 4 anos, em uma escola particular de Porto Alegre. As análises mostraram que ser professora-mãe interfere na compreensão e na relação com os processos de adaptação das crianças na Educação Infantil. Pude concluir que a experiência de ser mãe produz novas experiências de professora. Ser professora-mãe, de acordo com as entrevistadas, aguça a compreensão, modifica a sensibilidade, traz mais segurança e favorece um melhor entendimento deste processo tão doloroso para algumas famílias. ...
