Este trabalho pretende compreender as estratégias visuais e narrativas utilizadas em filmes de animação para atingir o público infantil e adulto; para isso, o objeto empírico eleito para análise foi o filme de animação Divertida Mente (Pixar, 2015). Através de uma contextualização sobre o surgimento do cinema de animação com suporte de Mannoni (2003), Lucena Júnior (2011), Arlindo Machado (2005) e Nader (2007), uma investigação sobre as características e significações dos contos de fadas através de Cashdan (2000), Bettelheim (2014) e Diana e Mario Corso (2006), e de uma averiguação das questões que envolvem a construção visual no cinema de animação sob a luz de Dondis (2007), Arnheim (2013) e Haake (2009), foi possível identificar que o filme estudado possui diversos modos narrativos e visuais para falar aos públicos observados. A metodologia utilizada foi revisão bibliográfica, coleta de informações sobre a produção e análise utilizando, principalmente, os quatro momentos narrativos elencados por Cashdan (2000): Travessia, Encontro com Presença Diabólica, Conquista e Celebração. This study aims to understand the visual and narrative strategies used in animated films to reach the childish and adult audiences; to do so, the empirical object chosen for analysis was the animated film Inside Out (Pixar, 2015). Through a contextualization about the origin of animated films with support from Mannoni (2003), Lucena Júnior (2011), Arlindo Machado (2005) e Nader (2007), an investigation about the characteristics and meanings of fairy tales through Cashdan (2000), Bettelheim (2014) e Diana e Mario Corso (2006) and an investigation of the issues surrounding the visual construction in animated films in the light of Dondis (2007), Arnheim (2013) e Haake (2009), it was possible to identify that the studied movie has several narrative and visual ways to talk to the studied publics. The used methodology was literature review, information collecting on the production and analysis using mainly the four narrative moments listed by Cashdan (2000): Crossing, Encounter with an Evil Presence, Conquest and Celebration.
