Abstract in Portuguese (Brasil)

CVDentus diamond burs (CVDVale, São José dos Campos, Brazil) coupled to an ultrasound were introduced in dentistry for almost a decade from studies of the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) and are an alternative to using diamond burs in conventional rotatory instruments in various specialties. In Dentistry, one of the advantages of using this type of equipment is selective grinding, providing ultra-conservative preparations, for example, in the removal of restorations and non-removable stains by microabrasion. The aim of this study was to report a case which made use of the CVDentus diamond burs for removal of extensive enamel hypoplasia and subsequent restoration with composite resins. The use of this type of tips proved a good alternative for removing stains such as the case reported, allowing for a conservative preparation and offering comfort to the patient. ...
