Eficácia de diferentes agentes clareadores sobre o clareamento interno de dentes não vitais

Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to investigate whether the type of bleaching agent influences the intensity of color changes during internal bleaching of non-vital teeth. The crowns of 44 extracted human mandibular incisors were artificially pigmented and randomly divided into four groups according to the bleaching agent tested: G1 - Whiteness SuperEndo; G2 - Opalescence Endo; G3 – sodium perborate plus water and G4 - without bleaching agent (negative control). Changes in the color of the crowns were quantified thrice at 0, 7, 14.21 and 28 days by a digital spectrophotometer (Vita Easyshade). Parameters L *, a * and b * were measured and values of ΔE*ab calculated. The data were subjected to multivariate analysis and Tamhane post hoc test for individual comparisons, both adjusted to the 5% significance level. The Δ E*ab values were significantly higher in 7 days for all bleaching agents. Significant color changes between OpalescenceEndo and SuperEndo Whiteness groups were observed only in 28 days. The sodium perborate/water group presented significantly lower ΔE*ab differences than those of OpalescenceEndo group at 7 and 21 days. It was concluded that the type of bleaching agent influence the intensity of the response of the whitening internal non-vital teeth over time.
