O presente trabalho apresenta a proposta de, a partir da Teoria Moderna de Carteira de Harry Markowitz, construir carteiras simuladas demonstrando a relação risco e retorno, a maximização do retorno e a redução do risco a partir da diversificação dos ativos na construção das carteiras. O presente trabalho apresenta a proposta de, a partir da Teoria Moderna de Carteira de Harry Markowitz, construir carteiras simuladas demonstrando a relação risco e retorno, a maximização do retorno e a redução do risco a partir da diversificação dos ativos na construção das carteiras. Para avaliação da performance, foram construídas noves carteiras e apresentado a evolução no período de janeiro de 1999 a agosto de 2007. Os resultados obtidos podem ser considerados como satisfatórios, averbando-se desta forma, a eficiência da teoria aplicada na prática, tendo em vista a redução do risco quando combinados ativos com correlação mais divergentes possíveis. No entanto, devido a magnitude do tema, sua dinâmica e complexidade, é notório a necessidade de análise complementar a cerca de cenários econômicos internos e externos, atuação e performance do segmento e dos resultados obtidos. ...
