As empresas abertas devem evidenciar em suas notas explicativas a composição dos seus ativos intangíveis, segregando-os entre ativos intangíveis gerados internamente e outros ativos intangíveis, bem como, atentar para as formas de reconhecimento, mensuração e divulgação conforme o tipo de ativo intangível. Assim, o objetivo desta pesquisa é analisar o reconhecimento e a forma de divulgação de ativos classificados como intangíveis, seguindo a convergência da contabilidade para as normas internacionais, aplicando esta análise em empresas do ramo de tecnologia, listadas na BM&FBovespa. Desta forma, foi realizada uma pesquisa descritiva e documental, com abordagem qualitativa, analisando as sete empresas pertencentes ao setor, à luz do CPC 04, de ativos intangíveis, entre os anos de 2008 e 2013. Observou-se que somente três empresas apresentaram a evidenciação correta dos seus ativos intangíveis no que tange o CPC pesquisado. Temporalmente, verificou-se aprimoramento da qualidade e do detalhamento das informações divulgadas. Deve-se considerar esta evolução positiva do nível de evidenciação, devido, principalmente, a absorção e a compreensão adequada das novas exigências. A partir dos dados analisados, pode-se inferir que as empresas ainda não adotam, plenamente, o normativo de ativos intangíveis. A falta do cumprimento destes normativos, desta forma, prejudica a análise da empresa, bem como, sua comparabilidade com outra organização, além de não cumprir a premissa de fornecer aos stakeholders uma informação útil e completa. ...

Public companies must disclose in their notes: the composition of its intangible assets, segregating them between internally generated intangible assets and other intangible assets, the appropriate form of recognition, measurement and disclosure, depending on the type of intangible asset. Thus, the objective of this research is to analyze the form of recognition and disclosure of assets classified as intangible, following the convergence of accounting to international standards, applying this analysis to companies in the technology sector listed on the BM&FBovespa. Therefore, a descriptive and documentary research was carried out with a qualitative approach, analyzing the seven companies in the sector, concerning the CPC 04, of intangible assets, between the years of 2008 and 2013. It was observed that only three companies disclosed their information regarding intangible assets according to the CPC addressed in this study. Temporally, it was verified an improvement of the quality and detailing in the information disclosed. It is possible to infer that this improvement happened, mainly, due to the absorption and proper understanding of the new requirements. According to the data analyzed, it can be inferred that firms do not properly follow the accounting rules imposed to them regarding disclosure of intangible assets. Therefore, the lack of compliance with regulatory affects the analysis of companies, as well as its comparability with other organization.
