Quando o historiador espia pelo buraco da fechadura : biografia e ética

Abstract

O artigo aborda as relações e tensões entre ética e narrativa biográfica, sobretudo no campo do conhecimento histórico, e foi dividido em três partes: na primeira, é exposta a concepção de ética, que guiará a análise subsequente; na segunda, aborda-se a motivação ética que está no cerne da própria biografia desde as suas origens, qual seja, a de estabelecer um discurso moral sobre o homem e a sociedade; por fim, propõe-se uma discussão sobre a ética do historiador biógrafo, tanto em relação a seus biografados quanto no que diz respeito aos princípios de sua disciplina.

The article discusses the relationships and tensions between ethics and biographical narrative, especially in the field of historical knowledge, and was divided into three parts: the first exposes the conception of ethics that guide the subsequent analysis, the second addresses the ethical motivation that lies in the heart of the biography itself from its origins, namely to establish a moral discourse about man and society, and finally proposes a discussion on the ethics of the biographer historian both in relation to their biographees, as with regard to the principles of his discipline.
