Polymers are widely used both food packages till in aircraft. Polymers have a complex mechanical behavior to be represented, so it is necessary the use of adequate materials models for their numerical simulation. This work presents a numerical-experimental characterization of viscous thermoelastic behavior of thermoplastic polyethylene .Classical onedimensional viscoelastic models were studied, considering the sensitivity of the temperature by shift functions of Williams-Landel-Ferry and Tool-Narayanaswamy. The characterization of this material is given by the obtaining of the material models’ parameters by curve fitting obtained by experimental relaxation tests at different temperatures. Model codes have been implemented in commercial scientific software to perform the parameters identification of experimental tests and uniaxial case histories of deformation and temperature. Finally, numerical tests of the models, with the identified parameters of the relaxation curves, are performed to verify the material behavior in different loading conditions. ...
