Este trabalho de conclusão de curso tem como objetivo analisar o relato produzido pelo mayordomo (administrador) da redução jesuítica de São Luís, Chrisanto Neranda, em 1754, acerca de suas vivências enquanto prisioneiro dos portugueses durante os conflitos decorrentes do Tratado de Madri (1750). Este trabalho de conclusão de curso tem como objetivo analisar o relato produzido pelo mayordomo (administrador) da redução jesuítica de São Luís, Chrisanto Neranda, em 1754, acerca de suas vivências enquanto prisioneiro dos portugueses durante os conflitos decorrentes do Tratado de Madri (1750). Através da análise do conteúdo e da produção, tradução e circulação deste texto, o estudo busca expor de que forma o relato escrito por Chrisanto Neranda pode ser compreendido como um trabalho de memória no processo de consolidação de uma identidade missioneira, bem como compreender a maneira como a escrita é instrumentalizada nesse processo. Assim, é possível perceber como este indígena, utilizando a escrita como suporte para a memória, é capaz de transmitir uma série de referências que julgava importantes para o coletivo no qual se inseria, realizando um trabalho de manutenção e atualização da memória deste grupo e afirmação de uma identidade que passava pela adesão ao projeto missional, à fé cristã e aos jesuítas, bem como pela defrontação e contraste com os portugueses. ...
